Shanthi Colaço, MD grew up in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains in California’s Bay Area. She graduated with honors in molecular and cell biology and a minor in music from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Colaço went on to earn her medical degree at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco and completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Colaço is a well-respected member of the dermatology community and belongs to several professional organizations including the American Academy of dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the Skin of Color Society. She has trained with some of the most reputable and innovative dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons in the country and authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Colaço stays up-to-date with advancements in dermatology to ensure that she offers men and women of all ages the most effective and sophisticated skin treatments available today. She is committed to helping her patients feel comfortable in their own skin, whether it’s getting acne under control, addressing melasma during pregnancy, or treating the signs of aging. In 2015, Dr. Colaço brought her vision to life when she founded ShanthiMD Dermatology in West Los Angeles.

When not at the office, Dr. Colaço spends time with her husband and three children and their giant fluffy labradoodle Ozzie. She also enjoys singing, playing the piano and guitar, traveling, cooking, and eating.

My passion is to empower each of my patients with this knowledge so they can continue to care for their skin outside of the clinic.”

Shibani feels excited and privileged to care for patients of all ages with various dermatologic conditions. She is meticulous with full-body skin exams to screen for skin cancers and other lesions. She performs biopsies, cryosurgery, excisions, intralesional injections, and more with skill and efficiency. Additionally, she is passionate about patient education, empowerment and tailoring custom skin care regimens for her patients. Shibani grew up in Yorba Linda, California, but her journey has taken her across the U.S. Starting as a licensed vocational nurse at the Salinas Valley Correctional Facility, a level 4 maximum security prison, she then moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus. After graduation, she worked at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in the neurology stepdown/stroke unit before relocating back to sunny California with her Husband

While studying at USC to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse at various intensive care units throughout southern California as a travel nurse, during the pandemic.

Outside of work, Shibani enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include traveling to new countries, trying new foods, watching Bollywood films, and doing HIIT exercises.

Amber Rangel, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Associate with a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California. Amber has specialized in dermatological aesthetic procedures since 2016. Amber has spent years perfecting her craft with continuous education in addition to hands-on training with multiple Dermatologists. Her comprehensive knowledge of lasers, injectables, chemical peels, microneedling, and skincare enables her to customize a treatment plan that can help each patient reach their definition of confidence. Amber specializes in natural looking aesthetics and is passionate about helping patients look and feel their best.

Amber is a California native, born and raised in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and rescue dog. Her hobbies include spin classes, audiobooks, long walks, and enjoying time in nature.
