Microneedling uses tiny sterile needles to create micro-wounds in the skin and stimulate new collagen production. The Genius takes this one step further by delivering a flash of deep radiofrequency energy (heat) while gold-plated micro-needles are in the skin at three different depths. These tiny zones of heat injury amplify the level and depth of new collagen and elastin that is stimulated from microneedling alone. The resulting tissue tightening and remodeling deep within the skin becomes visible lifting, smoothening, and softening of fine lines, wrinkles, acne and surgical scars at the skin’s surface.

Everyone! The device’s gold-plated needles protect the most superficial layers of skin from feeling the heat, which makes the Genius treatment safe for all skin types, including melanin-rich skin. This is a KEY difference between the Genius and laser treatments which heat up all layers of skin, making laser treatments significantly riskier in melanin-rich skin types.

The Genius can be used to achieve visible improvement of the face, neck, and other areas of the body:

The treatment works by destroying the sweat glands without damaging the surrounding tissue. In 2 to 3 treatments, most people see a significant reduction in excess sweating. Because sweat glands do not regenerate, the results will be permanent. Genius™ can be combined with other hyperhidrosis treatments such as Botox if needed.

The number of treatments vary depending on the type and severity of the condition that is being treated. We recommend starting with three to four sessions spaced one month apart.

With use of prescription topical numbing cream and a forced air cooling system during the procedure, the treatment is well tolerated. Some patients may feel heat and tingling during their treatment. The Genius treatment takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

After a Genius treatment, patients generally have mild redness, swelling, and warmth for up to one week followed by a rough texture to the skin that gradually flakes off in about two weeks. Scattered pinpoint bleeding, mild bruising, and temporary marks from the needles are a possibility and not a cause for concern. Optimal results are seen after 3 months, as it takes time for new collagen and elastin production to occur. Patients are advised to limit sun exposure/practice sun safety before and after treatment. Your skin will be sensitive post-procedure, so gentle skin care and a mineral based sunscreen is recommended until your skin is fully healed.

Maximum results are achieved around 6 months after your last treatment (you must be patient!). The good news is that these results can last up to two to three years. Maintenance treatments are recommended yearly to help keep new collagen production at higher levels.
